"Hail, Hail, the Gang's All Here" is one of the rousing classics of old timey sing-alongs. And it perfectly captured the mood of merriment at The Arbors at Buck Run in Feasterville/Trevose on Friday, January 11, 2013, when Holland's own Phil Ditanna entertained the residents, their families and the staff at the weekly Happy Hour that launches the weekend.

Ditanna played to a packed room at the Assisted Living community near his home. Ditanna, a retired elementary school teacher from the Council Rock district, explained that singing the songs that seniors love is tremendously satisfying. "When I appear at a place like The Arbors at Buck Run, it's so rewarding to see the audience get joy out of the music of their time. I was close to my mother and she recently passed away. So when I can bring these same tunes she loved to others who also enjoy them, it makes me feel good and brings back memories of my own mom."

Ditanna, who was in wedding bands during his teaching years, finds this solo performing, interacting with seniors using a karaoke-style accompaniment, is a delightful gig. "I love getting the audience involved, singing, smiling. This is fun for me!"
