OLGC CYO Varsity Boys win first ever Philadelphia Archdiocesan Soccer Championship

OLGC CYO Varsity Boys win first ever Philadelphia Archdiocesan Soccer Championship - OLGC’s 7th & 8th Grade Region team had a fantastic regular season and won the Region 11 Soccer Championship on November 3rd. Based on this accomplishment they were entered into the Archdiocesan-wide soccer tournament. Through a series of three tournament wins the team advanced to the Championship game that was played on Sunday, November 18th at Father Judge High School. Once there, the Varsity Boys defeated St. Phillip Neri 3-1 after trailing at half-time 1-0. The team finished the season with an overall 10-1-1 record. After the game the team was presented with the Championship Trophy and the boys also received individual medals. The award is displayed in OLGC’s trophy case and a banner recognizing this outstanding achievement will be hung in the school gym. The boys played at a very high level and represented OLGC with tremendous character and pride. This is the first time that an OLGC Varsity Boys team has won an Archdiocesan Championship.
