Pool Permits in Southampton

Just curious if anyone has an inflatable pool (Intex) in their backyard and has been notified that they need a permit?

Not only does it cost $254, but after you pay it the township makes it impossible to meet code (ie: you can't plug your pool to an outlet.....it must be hardwired to your house).

I was denied a permit and I am now fighting for my money back.

Just curious if anyone else is dealing with this.

Many reasons for permits are understandable. SAFETY first and foremost.
I believe a FREE safety inspection should be offered as a curtiousy. As far as a permit, its RIDICULOUS.Using safety as an excuse to force anyone for money is WRONG in every way. Free safety inspection, find out what is dangerous, then spend the money to make it safe.
