UPDATE: Calloway's Remains Closed

A sign was posted on the front door Monday that said the restaurant will be closed until further notice.

Update: Wednesday 9/26, 9:33 a.m.

Calloway's remains closed three days after the owner put a sign up on the door saying the restaurant is closed until further notice.

Tom Pileggi Associations - the property manager at the Just-a-Farms Shopping Center - says Calloway's is currently up to date on its rent and they recently received payment for it.

For now, the business remains closed. According to the Upper Moreland Business Tax Office, Calloway's has not signed its mercantile license, but that may not be the reason it's closed.

"It could be for dozens of reasons that would be worked out between the owner and the property manager," UM Tax Office representative George Kyriakodis told Patch.

Patch will continue to update this story as information becomes available. If anyone has any information on this story, please let us know.

Initial story below.

Employees showed up for work at Calloway's Monday afternoon only to find out they would have the rest of the day off.

And the next day, and possibly the one after that, too.

Calloway's closed its doors without notice and posted a sign on the door that read:

Calloway's is closed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.

As of 9 p.m. Monday, there was no answer at the restaurant. Its usual hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. The Calloway's Facebook page was regularly making posts as of Sunday night.

It appears the closing was sudden, but it is not certain as of now if or when it will reopen.

Patch will update this story as details unfold.

Not surprised after a few things that were mentioned to me. Just surprised that it took this long for it to happen! Such a shame...

Nikki, like what? My boyfriend and I had been going there for years; it was kind of "our" place.........the service sucked but the wings and nachos were great! I'm bummed that it's still closed.......it's a mystery!

Sorry to see this happen. Many new faces were there recently maybe they saw the handwriting on the wall. I hope it reopens under new management. We have been going there since it first opened.

spoke with now ex-employees, it is closed for good. The reasons are unbelievable, bouncing paychecks, no money to pay for essential goods, and just plain irresponsible ownership. Hopefully someone more responsible and intelligent will buy the place and put something worth wild there. Maybe something for the 30 somethings to go to without dealing with the young brats at places like big heads and steam.

Andy, if all of this is true, then why did the employees keep showing up for work every day? And I agree with your last sentence; although I thought the service really sucked, it WAS quiet and attracted a 30-and-up crowd, which was why we liked it. Great place to watch a game too!!

either the board of health shut them down or the L.C.B. pulled liqueur license or that show bar rescue is helping them .

Best wings and nachos around! And good beer specials too. Sad to see it closed because my boyfriend and I loved it there. Any updates on why it closed so suddenly?
