More Snow Headed Our Way
The National Weather Service is predicting a mixture of snow and rain showers for Upper Southampton and surrounding areas Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Southampton and surrounding areas from early Wednesday through Thursday morning.
Snow is likely in the area with a brief period of sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday afternoon. Accumulation of at least six inches is expected by the Weather Service.
They predict that the snow will begin to fall between 8 a.m. and noon tomorrow, with the heaviest snowfall rate, up to 2 inches per hour, expected between 5 p.m. and midnight.
The forecast for the next few days, as per the National Weather Service:
Tonight: A 30% chance of snow after 4am, with a low of 29 degrees. Little or no accumulation is expected.
Wednesday: A mixture of rain and snow likely before 1pm, changing to rain between 1pm and 3pm and then a mixture of rain and snow again after 3pm. Highs near 36 degrees. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
Wednesday Night: Rain and snow until 3 a.m. when it changes to just snow. Precipitation is expected to be heavy at times, with a low around 26 degrees. Blustery, northern winds, ranging between 11 and 20 mph are expected. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is anticipated.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.
