Obama Wins Election; Romney Won Southampton
The majority of Upper Southampton voters cast their ballots for Mitt Romney for president Tuesday.
Republican challenger Mitt Romney may not have won the election, but he did earn the majority of votes of Upper Southampton residents.
According to the unofficial election results published by the Bucks County Board of Elections Tuesday evening, Romney received 4738 votes to the 3764 votes tallied for Obama.
The chart below shows the unofficial tallies for both candidates in the 10 districts within Upper Southampton Township. While some of the margins were close, Romney carried every district across the township.
This is similar to the voting trend across the township in the 2008 presidential election when 4252 residents voted for Barack Obama, while 4681 residents voted for Republican candidate Senator John McCain.
