They should re-do the one at Byberry Rd. and S. Penn St. Go over that a few times and you need a new wheel alignment.

Maybe they need to treat it like the Willow Grove Airport. Ask only the people who live along the tracks to vote if they should keep the train at all. Close it down and make it a 'green way' and claim it will bring in more money. It will have the same odds of "improving" the economy of the area. (sarcasm)

Ah yes, more ignorance from the pro-airport side. Not a single true statement.

The Willow Grove Airport issue was decided by a lawfully appointed REGIONAL authority, who just so happened to be composed of MOSTLY local residents, because no one else - including the County, State or other municipalities - didn't want the costs, aggravation or responsibility.

Also, it is not being planned as a "greenway".

You should get over it already, Siobhra, and just take your air-toys somewhere else!

As I said before, look in the mirror Mike.

Interesting, when your words are taken 100% literally, you respond in a huff and attack. Yet now you are doing the same thing. Of course comparing a railroad to the airport property is not exactly the same, just the shape alone makes for differences, but I don't think that was the point of Siobhra's comment which could be applied to Highways also. You may not be aware that the airbase redevelopment is currently envisioned to be tax neutral. It is even claimed by the HLRA that density housing is required to make that happen.

Your claim that "no one else - including the County, State or other municipalities - didn't want the costs, aggravation or responsibility." is not true based on what I was told. Horsham township told the County that it was a local decision and by the time the county figured out that was not true, it was too late. Maybe you were not aware of that but now you know.

Lastly, the airport was proposed to promote and support business in the region, both businesses that needed access to business aviation and businesses that need to be located on an airport. Not sure what you are calling air-toys in your comment but there are plenty of smaller airports for small, non-business planes.

I thought I read on the PhillyTraction Yahoo website that was Montgomery Avenue that was going to be closed. They quoted, I think, the Boro manager at a Council meeting.
