Hurricane Sandy may bring several inches of heavy rain, sustained winds up to 45 miles per hour and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, throughout Bucks County, according to The National Weather Service.
And with wind gusts and heavy rain usually comes downed trees and power lines and flooding. Check back with Patch frequently, as we will try to keep you posted on what areas are closed and without power.
The township has declared a 'Disaster Emergency' and has asked everyone to stay off the roadways, unless absolutely necessary to move for safety reasons.
In the Philadelphia area, Governor Tom Corbett closed the full length
of Interstates 95 and 676; I-476 (non-toll portion); I-76 from the Pa.
Turnpike to Passyunk Avenue and the U.S. Route 1 Extension in Philadelphia to all traffic except emergency vehicles from Monday at 7 p.m. through Tuesday at 2 a.m.
You can follow PECO's outage map and report an outage here.
Keep PECO's emergency telephone number (1-800-841-4141) handy, just in case.

Any resolution to the meeting in the library in December? Did PECO fix the power grid that services Buckridge Meadows, in particular Stephen Way and Joan drive? With Hurricane Sandy coming in hours, I feel it is a forgone conclusion I'll be without power instantly and from what they are saying for days. I have water issues in my basement, and although I have pull generator, the gas will inevidibly run out on us. It would be wonderful to hear they fixed the problem that has been plaguing our neighborhood for years, even on non storm days. Please tell me they fixed our power grid!!!
