Southampton Days are Here Again!
Southampton’s annual week-long country fair kicks off Monday.
The 41st annual Southampton Days Country Fair begins at Tamanend Park on Monday, July 2.
This year’s celebration, themed “Our Legacy, Past and Present,” will feature all of the usual staples and a few new attractions.
Attendees have their choice of bingo, children’s activities, concerts, carnival rides and more beginning 6 p.m. each night from Monday through Saturday.
Wednesday, July 4 is Southampton Day – a full-on Independence Day celebration - beginning with a parade at 8:30 in the morning and ending late in the evening, after the legendary fireworks bonanza. (The fairgrounds will be closed between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in preparation for the fireworks.)
You can stroll around the carnival grounds for free each night, except for Wednesday evening, when a general admission of $3 will be charged to everyone over the age of 3. This fee includes entry to the fair, two concerts and the annual fireworks spectacular.
Parking will be available at Klinger Middle School for $2 per car every night of the fair except for Wednesday, July 4. On the Fourth of July, free bus transportation will be provided from these area locations:
- Southampton Shopping Center
- Hampton Square Shopping Center
- Redwood Shopping Center
- Davisville Church
- Davisville Shopping Center, 808 Street Road
Special arm bands granting unlimited access to carnival rides for the entire week will be available for purchase for $40 at the fair.
Check in with Patch during the week as we post pictures, videos and stories from the fair. Help make our coverage complete by uploading your own Southampton Days memories and comments.

Hoagies are back this year. Boy Scout Troop 5 will be selling them, along with chili and Caesar salads.

This will be my second year my family will not attend Southampton Days. Solely due to the allegations of paying volunteers for festival events. I am appalled that the board would let this unethical behavior occur. Our community deserves better.

Apparently some of the Committee people were paying themselves for doing certain work. While under the guise of volunteering.Dispiciple behavior,if not illegal. There was a lengthy thread addressing this, were some of them admitted it and tried to justify it.I don't know if this is still occuring, but apparently it was going on for quite some time.People should be honest about what is going on,if you are truly volunteering then how can you take a pay check?

My neighbor was involved for years and it appears to be true. The board of directors refuse to talk about it one on one. Come to a meeting and voice your concerns is what you will get. Their meeting, their rules, their way. What does that tell you?
