Some students at area colleges are turning to "sugar daddies" to help pay their college tuition, according to a study released by a unique dating website on Monday.

SeekingArrangement.com ranked Temple University as Number 3 on its list of "fastest growing sugar baby schools."

"While some may argue that these women are just using men for their personal gain," said Brandon Wade, CEO and founder of SeekingArrangement.com in an announcement. "I believe that they are proactive in pursuing a higher education."

Angela Jacob Bermudo, a publicist for SeekingArrangement, said the average sugar baby is 22 years old, attends school and receives approximately $3,000 per month to cover the cost of tuition, books and living expenses.

"She is looking for a mutually beneficial relationship," she said in a phone conversation with Patch.

The Las Vegas-based company reportedly has 2 million members. Members sign up for this dating site as either a sugar daddy, sugar momma or sugar baby.

The website offers a free premium membership upgrade if students register with a college email address (ending in .edu). SeekingArrangement used this data to create the fastest growing list.
