Amber Alert Ends: Abducted Toddler Found Safe

Police say armed men abducted 2-year-old Tymire Dior Smith from Montgomery County after assaulting his father.

The toddler that Pennsylvania State Police issued an Amber Alert about early Wednesday morning has been found safe, reports NBC10.

Two-year-old Tymire Dior Smith had been abducted from an Upper Dublin Township home in Montgomery County by three armed men who stole a new, dark-colored Chrysler 300 with a partial Pennsylvania license plate of HYJ68. NBC10 reported that friends of the family said the kidnappers called the family a short time later, demanding ransom money.

Metro Philadelphia reported that Tymire was found by a Philadelphia police officer on a sidewalk at the intersection of North 66th Street and Malvern Avenue about six hours after the abduction was reported.

He was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation. Police told Metro Philadelphia that he was met at the hospital by his mother and grandmother.

The alleged abductors remain at large.

Glad the child was alive and well. Anyone who does that to sn innocent child is sick and needs help. I hope they find the person and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

What is the world coming too?! Where are the days when you could walk home from the bus stop w/o looking over your shoulder? Or play outside alllll day,not come home til dinner & no one worried?? People wouldnt lock their doors when they went out,but now we need to lock them when we are home also?

Mandie:Those days are long gone and its only going to get worse.. Thanks to the President for allowing the world to 'live off the government', what's the incentive to get a job? Unfortunately, between the amount of people on welfare and the outrageous numbers of teen pregnancies, the crime rates are only going to get worse. So sad..
It's hard to try to raise decent kids, when there is so much garbage/low lifes out there.

It is sad to have to live in world with so much depravity. However, this is for Proud to be an American, there is an enormous amount of crime - especially depravity - committed by people who have jobs, money, and families EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR! Wake up! I agree that folks who work the system to be lazy are dead beats. But there are plenty of people who try to do their best and be honest and do not break laws and do not especially commit horrible crimes just because they are on welfare or do not come from a good area. It is the ignorant mentality such as yours that accepts crime as a poor mans sport and classifies lower income as "lower class". Not true. WAKE UP.

This was not a directly-intended kidnapping - they wanted the "Snoop-Dogg" car; the child was probably discovered in the back seat during he theft. At least these car thieves were humane enough not to dump the boy out the window.

They wanted ransom, doesn't sound humane at all. Greedy, self loathing pigs should be removed from society.

The fact that there were three men involved suggests that they were not all in agreement about abducting the child and someone may have contrived to let him go. Or there may have been a woman in the house or apartment who did not want to see the child come to harm. A two-year-old can't get very far on his own so someone may have put him there on the sidewalk once they knew that the policeman was nearby.

The outcome for the 12 yo in Clayton, NJ, was not as fortunate.

Piglet: I appreciate you're comments but I speak from experience. I grew up in Philly and was raised in a one parent family (3 kids) Mom NEVER received $1 in assistance. She worked 2 jobs and made too much money. My "sperm donor" was out of the picture since the youngest was 2.
With that being said, I choose to get married and have 3 kids of my own and we pay for them with three money we earn from our salaries.

So IGNORANCE, I think not, I speak from experience. None of my family (siblings and Children) are criminals out murderers.

Moral of the story, raise children with Love and not material items and they will pass that on and the world will be a better place. .
