It was a debate willie. It wasn't supposed to be "nice" and I think Biden did a great job. Ryan spent most of the time dodging questions and saying a whole lot of nothing about his and Romneys "5 point" plan that still didn't make any mathematical sense. That's because he knows if he did tell the truth about what they are cutting it would be political suicide. Look at his past voting record (ontheissues.org), its pretty clear where they intend to go with the cuts and its going to hit the middle and lower class hard if they get elected. I like how Ryan kept saying "small businesses" as if he was talking about little Mom and Pop stores in small town america, ha! He was talking about the "small businesses" that are multi-million dollar companies, this guy is no friend of the middle class. If you think he is you are a fool.

Paul Ryan was prepared with actual facts of how the last 4yrs has debated our country, Biden just made juvenile faces and smirks, looked like my 12yr old son when he argues with us. Paul Ryan has morals and values Biden never had.

Ryan was unable to deliver specifics on any othe questions asked. All he could say is that "we would do it differently". That simply isn't enough at this stage in the election.

The same rhetoric....and what has the Democratic side been specific about? Hope and Change? Forward? Not here to change minds, but please stop with the rhetoric pumped out by an administration who isn't certain who they will throw under the bus. Based upon Sundays spin....Hillary is doomed. Thanks Bill, for all of those kind words at the DNC, but your wife is toast. No different as to the middle class. Vote me in AGAIN, and I will forget about you for yet another 4 years, hang out with my millionaire friends and we can all have a good laugh.

Hey, skippy! Do you really think that the President controls gas prices? If that was true, why would they be so high right before an election? And why were they $4.10 a gallon under Bush? It's speculators on Wall Street you numb nut. And the REAL issues ARE being covered, if you can read between the Romney/Ryan lies.

Wally....I completely concur....however in this argument, Obama could have had a mild impact by supporting the Keystone pipeline. I can see from your response, you were not one of those idiots. Thanks!

Oh, well thanks for providing me that information, cause I never would have known that coming from the left. I think it better we follow the same plan as we have been for the last 4 years...maybe by 2016, I will be looking forward to $12/gallon, 22% unemployment and Debt up to $22 trillion.....yes, I got those numbers from the same place you got Keystone not working.....opinion ---but then again thats what this whole page is about, isnt it? I wrote on this blog months ago that either side can find a study to support their facts. Just like polls....last week it was Obama CRUSHING Romney, this week a 12% swing, Romney killing Obama....its all BS. But in the end we have to do something regarding our energy, and thus far, like everything else from this administration, its going in the wrong direction. I am willing to listen to solutions, but have seen ACTIONS, and they arent working. I am unwilling to listen to what we WILL do from an administration that has spent 4 years NOT DOING. Help me understand what ACTION has helped this country? I really am willing to listen.

The Dems were all over Bush when gas prices were high, but under Obama, the libs say high gas prices are a good thing. The average price of gas when Obama took office was $1.85/gallon.

Blah blah blah, Moe. And gas prices were 99 cents a gallon under Clinton when he left office. Your point?
Reese
12:29 pm on Monday, October 15, 2012
The average price of gas was most certainly not $1.85 when Bush left office. I intentionally purchased a 4-cylinder car back in '06 (I think Bush was still in office, was he not? ) and gas NEVER dipped below $2.00 per gallon in the metro Philly area since... forever... It was well over $2 per gallon in 2006 and already over $3 per gallon when Obama took office. I am so tired of the blatant lies the right constantly tells. Obama is far from a saint but given what I've seen from the right the past four years, including our oh-so-honest Corbett doing his best to deny poor and elderly a fair chance to vote, the GOP Presidential nominee and his family members joining in on something as petty and childish as the birther nonsense, and numerous pie-in-the-sky promises with not one fact to say how they will be delivered, I wouldn't vote right if you paid me. Maybe next election, when the party members aren't so evil and dishonest. When I see comments like claiming libs supposedly say high gas prices are a good thing, I think people should start getting ACTUAL facts instead of being spoon-fed everything from a "news" source like Fox, which is about as "fair and balanced" as the Taliban...

Gas prices are determined by the Exchanges upon which gasoline is traded and that determination comes from the combined input of several thousand traders from around the globe. The only political element is how much tax is put on the final product. That's why in Venezuela and Saudi Arabia (and a few other oil producing countries), the price is so cheap. One, they don't tax it and two, they subsidize the price for their citizens. The price of OPEC produced crude oil (as opposed to gas), is only partially influenced by OPEC. They currently want the price to be above $80 a barrel, so they pump the appropriate amount to keep it at that level. Trouble is that OPEC members cheat and pump more than they should (greed), and the price usually ends up much lower than their target price. This topic is very misunderstood to say the least! I'm am sick and tired of hearing people blame the President about gas prices. I persoanlly never blamed Bush and wish more were educated about this.

A couple old quotes, very applicable to today:
"I am a Republican, a black, dyed in the wool Republican, and I never intend to belong to any other party than the party of freedom and progress."
"Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe."
- Frederick Douglass
"How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."
"All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach."
- Adolf Hitler

Wallst is that how you make it through?? By constantly calling people names but coming up with nothing substantial?
Morgan King
2:33 pm on Monday, October 15, 2012
I don't think those mean what you think they do. Frederick Douglass is condemning the wealthy ruling class for the continuation of miserable worker's rights after slavery was abolished - from that same speech:
"In fact, though he is nominally free, he is still actually a slave... I contend that this so-called emancipation is practically a lie of the worst kind, keeping the word of promise to the ear and breaking it to the heart. Do you ask a more particular answer to the question, why the [poor man] has made so little progress, why his cupboard is empty, why he flutters in rags, why his children run naked, and his wife is barefooted and hides herself behind the hut when a stranger is passing? I will tell you. It is because the husband and father is systematically and almost universally cheated out of his hard earnings. The same class that once extorted his labor under the lash, now extorts his labor by a mean, sneaking, and fraudulent device, which is more effective than the lash...He struggles from year to year, but like a man in a morass, the more he struggles, the deeper he sinks. The highest wages paid him [goes directly back into the] store, which, in many cases, is owned by his employer... the laborer is bound hand and foot, and is completely in the power of his employer. He can charge the poor fellow just what he pleases and give him what kind of goods he pleases, and he does both."
The store owners may be bit more diversified, but the problem persists today.
Morgan King
2:51 pm on Monday, October 15, 2012
That same false freedom that suppresses the poor by binding them to the company store that Douglass so vehemently opposes is the cornerstone of the modern corporate retail industry, the very backbone of today's Republican party - the shattering of the unions, the outsourced manufacturing, the unregulated abuses by the corporate class are all things Douglass would have been strongly against. There hasn't been a Republican that Douglass would have supported since, at-best, Hoover, and today's Wal-Mart's and Home Depot's have taken the place of the 'company store' he so railed against.

Morgan...really company store...WalMart....Home Depot ???? The company stores cheated and looted employees because there was no competition..kind of like Obamacare. WalMart was the first to deliver $4 presecriptions for everyone. Te;; me the uninsured did not enjoy the benefits.
They provide such an incredible service for everyone.. You hippies need to get off the bong and really re-think what you're doing and order a Kevorkian home kit
Morgan King
10:17 pm on Monday, October 15, 2012
Competition, huh? You mean by carrying the same products from the same companies, shipped from the same factories in China? They stamped out the real competition - actual small businesses - and facilitated the devastation of America's work force by championing outsourced goods and materials at lower and lower prices until US workers were completely undercut. And, of course, paying their employees just enough to keep them scraping by if they keep shopping at Walmart - that doesn't sound a little bit like the 'company store' to you?

Please don't vote for Democrats. They are blindly following the Marxist Obama and his Marxist cretins. This is no longer the party of JFK and Truman. It has been commandeered by radical leftists and marxists. You can vote for Tyranny with the marxist president that we have, or you can choose liberty and vote Republican. Make no mistake, if you vote Democrat we will be going down a path never intended by our founders. A path of complete government invasion into our lives. The path that their motto "Forward" invokes. You don't have to become a republican to vote against their socialist agenda,. You can choose to stay Democrat or Independent. But we need you in this fight to save our country and to preserve our liberties for this and other generations. Help us send this message and follow your hearts.
Want more proof that Obama is a Marxist? Just look at his campaign slogan: Forward!
Classic code language used by these and every Marxist since Marx and Engels. Look it up in Wikipedia. You will find it. It has its own section for "Forward " Do you think that it is just an accident or coincidence that they chose Forward? Or is it because it is ingrained in every fiber of their Marxist indoctrinated bodies? Vote for Liberty Not Tyranny!! God Bless the USA!

You can vote for a Taliban-type government or you can vote for freedom (choice, womens health, gay rights, etc.) and the road to recovery by voting Democrat. Make no mistake, if nyou vote Republican we will be going down a path that we went that got us into the biggest financial mess (second only to the great depression) in our nations history. A complete invasion of our principals. The path that their motto "Believe in America" invokes, meaning believe in the wealthey only, and forget about the 47%. You don't have to become a Democrat to vote against their fascist agenda, you can choose to stay Republican or Independent. But we need you in this fight to save our country and to preserve our liberties for this and other generations. Help us send this message and follow your hearts.
