I love videos in my blog posts, or just to put on the sharing sites like Youtube. They can catch attention, and may be colorful and sound good. You can educate, entertain, or motivate people when they watch your videos. There are a number of ways for you to make and use videos.
1. "Talking Head Videos" You can just set up a webcam and talk into the camera. This is great for "vlogging" and passing along information. Make sure that you have good lighting that flatters you, and that the sound is good. Try to avoid barking dogs and phones ringing while you are recording!
2. Video from events or that you take outside of your room! You can integrate scenery or other footage that you have taken with music, voice overs, or captions. Or you can just talk into the camera while you are filming - I do that a lot.
3. Use a video creation tool. This is one of my favorite things to do. You can take photos, and/or snips of videos, and put them together with info that you type. There is music that is approved for your use. The finished product is professional and easy to upload to Youtube. There are a number of companies and services, but I prefer Animoto. Please use my referral code when signing up! http://bit.ly/skw-animoto
You can make free videos up to 30 seconds in length. With a paid membership, you have a lot of additional options, music, and layouts that you can use! Check out this sample video that I made about using Animoto.
