Bucks Tourism Agency Announces Awards, Grants

Visit Bucks County celebrates National Tourism Day.

Visit Bucks County, the county’s official tourism promotion agency, celebrated National Tourism Day on May 8 by giving away awards and money. Tourism officials and business partners met at the Bucks County Visitor Center on Street Road near Parx Casino in Bensalem. The event was one of 75 similar ones nationwide celebrating the industry for Tourism Day. Visit Bucks Executive Director Jerry Lepping noted that “tourism in Bucks County supports 11,000 jobs and generates $814 million in the local economy.” In honor of National Tourism Day, Lepping spoke of the group’s participation in a national tourism effort and its specific marketing campaign in New York and North Jersey promoting tourism in Bucks County. Photographing a Super Moon

Some expert advice for getting the perfect photograph of the moon.

If the moon looks a bit bigger and brighter Saturday, you aren't just seeing things. Tonight the moon, a 'super moon', will be closer to the earth than it has been in the past 20 years. What better time to try and capture a picture of one of nature's finest subjects? We talked to New York Camera & Video's Canon Expert Steve Stief, who offered some tips for getting a shot of the moon that is out of this world. Stief said the most important tip he can offer is to use a tripod. This tip applies to everyone, no matter how fancy your camera. "You need to use a slower shutter speed to shoot at night," he said. Recall: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Dog Food Contaminated with Salmonella

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula Dry Dog Food recalled after testing positive for salmonella.

According to a release from the FDA, Diamond Pet Foods is expanding a voluntary recall to include one production run and four production codes of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light formula dry dog food. One bag of the product has tested positive for Salmonella, and the recall of the four production codes is being conducted as a precautionary measure. No dog illnesses have been reported. Heard about this recall a couple of weeks ago. Having knowledge and working in the pet industry, people need to be aware of where the food is produced and buy natural dog foods with wholesome ingredients. You will be feeding less than the cheaper foods and giving your pet wholesome nutrition. Giant Food Stores Now Accepts American Express

Giant Food Stores began accepting American Express credit cards on April 22.

Donations Being Accepted at Feasterville Impact Thrift Store

The newest Impact Thrift Store location is now accepting donations.

After drawing a large crowd for its grand opening April 21, the Feasterville Impact Thrift Store location is now accepting donations. Talk of Justice Over Lunch

District Justice William Benz spoke to the Southampton Business and Professional Society Tuesday.

Approximately 20 members of the Southampton Business and Professional Association gathered for the monthly member luncheon at the Davisville Church Tuesday. After catching up and a little networking, attendees were treated to a buffet lunch and brief address from Judge William Benz. Benz, who is a member of the organization, presides over district court in Richboro and maintains a law office in Southampton. He presented an overview of the criminal justice process at the local level. The Southampton Business and Professional Association meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Next month, District Attorney David Heckler is the planned speaker.
