I’m not sure when it happened or why, but I have not experienced a full night's worth of uninterrupted sleep in years. It seems that while my six-year-old, Peyton, and my five-year-old, Madison, started sleeping through the night very early, they failed to continue this pattern as toddlers. I’m not exactly sure at what age they started waking in the middle of the night, but it may have been around three years old. When it first began we were able to get them back to bed rather quickly, but somewhere along the line it became a problem. Neither one could be consoled back to their own bed. A bed…
I often find myself struggling to find the perfect place to have a kids birthday party. While I love having it in the comfort of my own home, there are only so many things that one can do to keep the kids entertained. Now that my kids are of school age, there are more children to invite. When Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” movie came out, my girlfriend and I decided to take our…
It amazes me that while I am not a “new” mom, I certainly feel like one this time around. I find myself worrying because my third baby, Nathan, isn’t exactly where his brother, Peyton, and sister, Madison, were at this point. I‘m slowly beginning to see that each baby is different and he is certainly moving at his own pace. I started comparing Nathan to his siblings at the young age of seven weeks old, mainly because Peyton and Madison were already sleeping through the night at this point. Here we are at almost eight months and, well, let’s just say we get anywhere from six to seven hours of …
