Of the 47 members in attendance, 15 had been members for at least 55 years. In recounting the history of the club, The Star reported that a group of young men and women who were mostly unmarried, and had attended grade school together on Street Road in Southampton and then entered the new two-year high school on Street Road when it was built in 1898. …
The following information was obtained from The Southampton Star, week of July 29 - August 5, 1959 Top News: Chief Gray Warns Street Road Speeders: Traps will be set next week. Upper Southampton Police Chief Charles W. Gray warned that starting next week speed traps would be set up in several areas across the township. Gray said the township was not interested in collecting fines but rather in the safety of its citizens.
