More About Southampton Fire Company No. 1
The Southampton Fire Company was organized in 1909 and officially chartered by the Commonwealth in 1913. In 1914, a formal fire house was erected at the corner of Knowles Avenue and Second Street Pike. The company moved to its current location, at the corner of Churchville and Street Roads, in 1957.
Its apparatus include two pumper trucks -Engine 1 and Engine 2- one ladder truck and one rescue truck. The Southampton Fire Company is staffed solely by volunteers. It welcomes new members and invites any person interested in volunteering their services to stop by the firehouse on Monday evenings after 7 p.m. The fire house also has a 200 seat banquet hall, The Hampton Room, available for rental.
