Colonial Storytelling Festival

1641 Old York Rd, Hartsville, PA | Get Directions »

Please join us to listen and enjoy professional storytellers dressed in period attire in the age-old tradition of sharing stories set in Colonial and other times.  Everyone attending will have the opportunity to go from storyteller to storyteller in air-conditioned comfort and also tour the house and hear the story of how it became part of our nation's history.

Several of our storytellers are from the Garden State Storytellers League as well as Ronald Carter, Claudia Lees, and Steve Noble. The Garden State Storytellers will tell four stories that work together to form a larger story. Ronald Carter will dress as James Fortin and tell about this black sailmaker who raised a regiment of negro soldiers to defend Philadelphia from the British; Claudia Lees will share a ghost story from the Colonial period, and Steve Noble will tell a modern day humorous story about boys and rockets. The event is hosted by the Warwick Township Historical Society and president Ed Price will also be telling stories in costume.
