Greater Hatboro Chamber Sponsors 4th Annual Spring Cleanup, Recycle Day and Paper Shred on Saturday April 26

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce (www.hatborochamber.org) will sponsor its 4th Annual Spring Cleanup, Recycle Day and Paper Shred on Saturday, April 26. The cleanup will start at 10:30 a.m., and include the downtown area of York Road and side streets.

"This annual event is designed to boost the sense of pride in our community," says Joseph J. Tryon, Jr., chamber president. "Bring your friends and family and join us for this opportunity to make our historic town clean and green."

Residents and merchants are encouraged to sweep debris from sidewalks, wash windows, clear away weeds, and tidy up storefronts to help beautify Hatboro. The chamber will supply each participating business or volunteer with a broom, dustpan, trash bags and gloves. These cleaning items will be available for pick up on Thursday, April 24, or Friday, April 25. Please call the chamber office 215.956.9540 to make arrangements. Cleaning supplies will be also available the morning of the event in the parking lot behind Hatboro Federal Savings at 221 South York Road.

The recycling event will be held in Hatboro Federal's parking lot from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Allowable items will include, scrap metals, some large and small appliances, tools, garden equipment, air conditioners, batteries, bicycles, pots and pans, patio furniture, VCRs, exercise equipment, computers and electronics ($10 fee for CRTs), eyeglasses, shoes/sneakers, and more. For a complete list, please call the chamber, or look for the green flyers that will be posted in downtown storefronts and on community bulletin boards.
