Question to residents about Stackpole land

I'm looking for someone who may know the history of Stackpole and attached field prior to the school being built. Any life long residents who read this or possibly even the children of the original good people of Southampton. I understand that lot was once a dairy farm. I have been told the barn was where the school stood. My question is the hill which the playground stands on. A Natural or man made slope??? County builders claim it to be man made. I have heard from a few that is not true. The cows were let out on said hill and walked over the slope to graze on the lower end. I am currently researching topography maps but would like some feedback from anyone who may know? If anyone has any information that could be of use to me please post it here or email me at coop94533@yahoo.com
