It's April 9, folks. Here are your Five Things.
- All Centennial School District schools and offices are closed today, but it's a busy week for the district. There's a school board meeting Tuesday night, report cards are distributed Wednesday and the education committee meets Wednesday night.
- Township offces and departments are open for business today after being closed Friday.
- The forecast is calling for a blustery day, so even with a high in the 60s, it won't exactly be balmy out there.
- The is in full swing with orders being taken at the library through April 27 for $3.50 each or three for $10. The plants come in 4 1/2 pots and you can choose from red, pink or salmon geraniums.
- Somewhat random April 9 tidbits: Today is the 100th day of the year. It was on this date in 1867 that the U.S. Senate ratified a treaty with Russia for the purchase of Alaska. The treaty passed by a single vote. The Astrodome opened on April 9, 1965 and we were all introduced to indoor baseball.
