Upper Southampton Township and the Kiwanis Club invite children between the ages of 5 and 14 to participate in a Bicycle Rodeo and free bike riding safety program to be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Veterans Field on New Road in Southampton.
The program will include:
* Bicycle safety from a bicycle policeman
* Bike inspections
* Simple repairs
* Helmet checks
* Sheriff’s Department Child ID Package
There is no cost for the event. Children are required to bring a bicycle and helmet to participate and must be accompanied by an adult.
According to the township website, participants will practice starting and stopping, the safe way to exit a driveway, how to look for traffic, negotiate an intersection and avoid common road hazards.
