Clear Skies Lead to Rainy Week, Says NWS
The rain will roll in tomorrow and linger through most of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday is shaping up to be a beautiful day in Southampton. But get out and enjoy it while you can, as the National Weather Service this weather won't be here for long.
The NWS says today will be sunny with a high near 81, but expect the rain to roll in tomorrow and last off-and-on throughout the rest of the week.
Here's a look at the NWS' detailed weekly forecast for Southampton:
- Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
- Tuesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Wednesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Thursday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
- Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
- Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
- Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
