Free Family Fun at Tamanend Park Saturday

Celebrate Tamanend Park Day with games and activities for kids, tours and demonstrations this Saturday.

Celebrate all that Southampton's beautiful 103-acre park has to offer while learning about its rich history this weekend at Tamanend Park Day.

The fun-filled day will include tours of the historic buildings surrounding the park,
Lenape drum and dance demonstrations, arts and crafts and colonial demonstrations.  Information from various non-profits that support the park will also be available.

Tamanend Park day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The scheduled events are as follows:

  • Opening ceremony at 10 a.m.
  • Old School Baptist Meetinghouse  tours at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Farm house tours 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Lenape “Round Dance” at 2:30 p.m.
"This year will be a top notch event, since we are celebrating two very important events in Tamanend Park’s history," said Andy Pickford, of the Friends of Tamanend Park.  "Many park visitors may not be aware of the rich history found in Tamanend Park and this year we hope everyone will learn something new.”

Tamanend Park Day is sponsored by the Friends of Tamanend Park, The Tamanend Park Herb Gardening Club, The Upper Southampton Historical Advisory Board and Upper Southampton Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Tamanend Park is located at 1255 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966
