Living History, Boating Class, Burger Night This Weekend

BURGER NIGHT AT WEST AVE GRILLE

Where/when: West Ave Grille, 233 2nd St. Pike, Upper Southampton, Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

What: Enjoy $5 burgers in a fun, comfortable atmosphere.

MEET BEN FRANKLIN'S DAUGHTER & MRS. TENNENT

Where/when: The Fuge, 780 Falcon Cir., Warminster, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What: Costumed ladies will delight and entertain the young and old with historical, amusing stories, all based on factual research. There is also a tour of the premises, where astronauts that went to the moon trained. After the program, finger food and light refreshments will be available.

Cost: Free

ABOUT BOATING SAFELY

Where/when: Warminster Presbyterian Church, 500 Madison Ave., Warminster, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What: This beginner boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete About Boating Safely. Topics covered in this class are: Boating laws, boating safety equipment, navigation trailering and more.

Cost: $25

CHEERLEADING CLINIC

Where/when: William Tennent High School, 333 Centennial Road, Warminster, Saturday from 9:15 a.m. to noon.

What: All eighth-grade students are welcome to attend. There will be two shorter sessions for elementary and middle school students. Session 1 for ages 5-11 is 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., and Session 2 for ages 12-14 is 10:15-11:45 a.m. Parental supervision is required to attend this event. There will be face painting, bows and time to dance with the Tennent Panther

Cost: $5

FAMILY MUSIC & ART FEST

Where/when: The Conservatory, 4459 W. Swamp Rd., Doylestown, Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

What: The event will celebrate the arts through several activities, including a Battle of the Bands, an instrument petting zoo, a community mural, face painting, and a mixed media art project. There will also be an art show and sale, which will include 6x6-inch works of more than 50 local artists on sale for $50.  

Cost: Free to attend.
