Our Lady of Good Counsel Carnival Welcomes Summer

A little (or a lot) of rain won’t stop the much anticipated Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) annual carnival that has been held in Upper Southampton Township for over a decade.

“Because, it’s good, clean fun in a safe environment for the community and our parish,” Luberda said.

Taking place on the grounds of the OLGC parish and school, from June 13 – 15, the OLGC carnival will feature family-friendly amusement rides, attractions, games and a special theme each night:

Thursday, June 13 is German Night

• Entertainment by Bill Aust
• Enjoy our beer garden and sample our Knockwurst, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut and homemade German Potato Salad
• Imported German Beer 

Friday, June 14 is Country Music Night

• Entertainment by The Country Band
• Enjoy all the fixins! Pulled pork, BBQ chicken, Western baked beans, corn bread and cole slaw
• Pony rides and more!

Saturday, June 15 is Sports Night

•  Live Summer Fun Music
• Your favorite summer foods—Pork roll sandwiches, Boardwalk fries, Coney Island hot dogs and burgers!

In case of inclement weather, Luberda said that the attractions and dining will be moved into the OLGC School gymnasium.

In addition to the carnival, raffles for various prizes will be available. Such prizes include tickets to games of Philadelphia sports teams, local college sports and a $25,000 grand prize raffle.

According to Luberda, money raised through the OLGC carnival will benefit the OLGC community. In recent years, carnival funds were used to purchase air conditioning for the parochial school, new parking lot paving and the construction of a retention basin on church grounds.
