: The driver in an August 2011 crash that killed two of his best friends traded a potential 27-and-a-half year sentence for the possibility of being paroled after 3-and-a-half years under a plea agreement reached by both sides Tuesday. Connor James McNicholas, 20, of Bryant Court in Ambler, pleaded guilty to roughly one-third of the charges related to the single vehicle collision, which claimed the lives of fellow 2010 Hatboro-Horsham High School graduates Edward Coombs and Robert Nagel on Aug. 6.

: Former Neshaminy School District superintendent Paul Kadri was placed on administrative leave by the Groton (Connecticut) School Board last month—where he has served as superintendent since 2008—pending an investigation into his “interactions with and treatment of district employees.” The action also bars Kadri from having contact with any school employee, board member or even stepping on school property.

: Bensalem police are attempting to identify two “brazen suspects” in the theft of a white wrought iron chair set stolen from a local funeral home. The theft occurred around 4:30 p.m. on June 1. Fortunately, the suspects and their vehicle were caught on surveillance video. According to Deputy Director of Public Safety Pat Ponticelli, like many other municipalities in the area, Bensalem is inundated with recent thefts of metal, which is sold for pennies on the dollar as scrap metal.

: The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will consider revised plans for a mixed-use development at the old Acme site on Sycamore Street at its meeting Wednesday.  Last week, the Newtown Township Planning Commission recommended approval of the plans.

: The Council Rock South Golden Hawks are one game away from winning the state championship in the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament. After beating Altoona, 4-0, in the seminfinals at Hershey on Monday, the boys baseball team will advance to the state championship game at Penn State University. The Golden Hawks will take on La Salle on Friday, June 15 at 1 p.m.

: Moss Rehab plans to open an inpatient rehabilitation unit within Doylestown Hospital by the end of this month. The 12-bed unit will be the fifth such satellite unit for MossRehab, which is part of the Einstein Healthcare Network. It is expected to open by Wednesday, June 27. The central location in Doylestown will allow the rehabilitation specialists to treat Bucks County residents who suffer from complications from strokes, bilateral joint replacement and medical conditions that require inpatient rehabilitation care, Einstein officials said.
