Who's North Branford's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama its person of the year. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama as its Person of the Year.

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including Barack Obama, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is North Branford’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

Jenn thanks for the website for Matt's Mission. My daughter was a friend of Matt and they were the Class of 2009 (North Branford High School). After his passing, my daughter and people who knew him told it really hard. I told her just remember the good times with Matt and be grateful he was a part of your life.

Thank you Cheryl! I really appreciate your kind words! Fran Merola is a great choice - he sacrifices time away from his family for our community 365 days of the year. Putting ones life on the line to save a friend leaves me speechless. Jeff Delgaudio would be another great choice. May I also recommend Scott Schoonmaker ~ as a political figure, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. With class, Superintendent Schoonmaker has done a great job, another great choice. Lastly all NBFD and NBPD who put their lives on the line to protect us and keep us safe are also very deserving.

After learning about all the nominations, I am to glad to be a resident of North Branford for thirty-seven years. The people are a caring and unselfish community. They will help financially, medically and donate unlimited time for their town.

Cheryl, I agree with your comment. We do have a community that volunteers for many functions. We have several persons in our community that are very unselfish.

I agree that Jeff Delgaudio should be North Branford's choice. Close to 8 years ago, my daughter was dying from inherited Polycyctic Kidney disease, receive a donor transplant in the 11th hour, and is living her life to the fullest each day. Donor Donation is so important. I thank God for the Gift of Life. Any donation is a Gift. God Bless Jeff, and may his friend live many healthy years. Audrey
