'Friends With Benefits' Tops; 'The Help' Second at Redbox

In the mood to rent a movie, but not sure what's popular? Patch has teamed up with Redbox to bring you the top five movie rentals in our area.

With a holiday weekend at hand, there might be time to catch an extra movie. If you’re looking for ideas, here are the five most-rented movies in our area, according to Redbox.

Friends With Benefits (R): Two friends (Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis) add sex to their friendship and, in a stunning plot twist (NOT!), things get complicated.

The Help (PG-13): This will probably be labeled a Chick Flick, though it mixes in class and race relations at the dawn of the civil rights movement. The center of the story line is the hired help (African Americans, of course), are the source for a tell-all book about their wealthy (white) employers. But the real story is in the lives of the women involved. See, Chick Flick.

Colombiana (PG-13): Here’s a feel-good movie premise for the holiday season, direct from the movie description – “Cataleya is a young woman who has grown up to be an assassin after witnessing the murder of her parents as a child.” Tis the season.

The Change-up (R): Two totally different guys – one stable & married, the other a wild & crazy womanizer, end up magically switching lives. Amazingly (again, NOT!), they find that the other’s life is not nearly as awesome as they suspected.

Kung-Fu Panda 2 (PG): Apparently, there is more than one movie’s worth of material regarding a chubby panda and his martial arts buddies.
