Superhero Costumes Popular this Halloween

Browse a costume store online or take a quick stroll through a costume shop and see that this year's popular Halloween trend are superheroes and movie-themed costumes.

A Blockbuster Express survey of more than 2,000 people found that many costume party-goers plans on dressing as a movie character to celebrate the holiday, including cartoon characters like the Smurfs and superheroes.

"Of adults dressing in a movie-inspired theme, one in three will dress up as an action hero or adventure star," according to a Business Wire article.

Costume stores such as Halloween Express have special superhero and movie sections on their websites. From Thor to Green Lantern, most stores have costumes to fit men, women and children.

Top costumes at Halloween Adventure Costume Store in Philadelphia include the Venom costume from "Spider-Man 3" followed by an old-school Captain America costume.

Due to the popularity and demand for this year's trend, entire websites have been dedicated to finding that perfect super hero costume.

But don't fret. Just because everyone else is being a movie character doesn't mean you have to. Feel free to rock a classic zombie or pirate costume or create something a little more obscure, like a chick magnet.
