Visit Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary

This Halloween season visit one Philadelphia's most haunted attractions—The Eastern State Penitentiary. Once the home to famous inmates Al Capone and Willie Sutton, the former prison is said to be haunted by its previous inmates.

Terror Behind the Walls is the Penitentiary's state of the art haunted house featuring special effects, lighting, digital sound, animatronic props and more than 200 performers with one goal: "[T]o make you scared. Really scared." There are six separate attractions in the Terror haunted house, an "After Dark VIP Tour" and "Fright and a Bite" dinner packages.

The after dark tour is an hour-long, guided flashlight walking tour of the penitentiary for a group of 20 people. Visitors will visit cell block's including Al Capone's, Death Row and the underground isolation cells. Then guests are escorted to the front of the Terror Behind the Walls' lines and given a souvenir group photo and an LED flashlight.

Reservations must be made in advance for the dinner package and coupons for tours can be found online. 

Children under the age of 7 are not permitted on the site, and events for families with children between 7 and 12 are also available.
