Southampton Giant Celebrates Grand Re-Opening

Giant Food Stores recently completed an extensive remodeling of its Southampton store, located in the Southampton Shopping Center.

“We are proud to have reinvested in the Southampton community, and we look forward to showcasing our new amenities to our customers,” said Store Manager Fred Morgan.

“Our new state-of-the-art remodel offers Southampton shoppers even more quality, selections, and savings for greater customer convenience,” Morgan said.

During the overhaul, Giant installed LED lighting in many areas of the store, including overhead track lights, spotlights on specialty areas and displays, the exterior store signs and in the frozen food cases.

Once inside the updated facade, customers will find the produce, deli, meat, and seafood departments have been given new decor and fixtures that allow for the display of a larger variety of products. Other departments, such as health and beauty care and dairy, have been outright expanded. 

As part of the remodel, the store's customer service area was also expanded. Two regular registers were installed, and along the ability to purchase lottery tickets and postage stamps customers can use the ATM or wire money through Western Union. 

Special "Shopping Solutions" kiosks have also been added throughout the store. These kiosks allow customers to check personalized BonusCard savings offers, print coupons, locate an item, or place a deli order all through following the prompts on a touch screen. 

The biggest change might be noted tucked amongst the aisles, a section called "Nature's Promise Marketplace." A representative from Giant's corporate office said this natural and organic section includes more than 2,500 frozen, dairy, grocery and special diet selections.

The Southampton Giant has been in existence since 1996. It is open for business 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
