5 Things: Feb 18

Tidbits of Information to get you through the day.

1. Centennial School District: Attention all William Tennett High School (and their families and friends)! The school district invites you to donate to the development of the WTHS Alumni Stadium through its fundraiser. Donors can purchase different sized bricks, plaques or make monetary donations online.

 2. Need some space? The Upper Southampton Township Parks and Recreation opens its doors to the public who have special events and need venues. Offerings include the Carriage House, Farmhouse, meeting room and more, which are all located at 1255 Second Street Pike. Please call 215-355-9781 and view the Spring 2011 newsletter for more information on how to reserve your space.

  3. Billboard Number One: Today in 1980, Queen's "Crazy little thing called love" topped the charts. This song has appeared on American Idol and versions of it have appeared on soundtracks of more contemporary films like Failure to Launch. Although this song is over 30 years old, it still manages to make its way into our media. So take a back seat, hitch-hike and take a look at video.

4. Today in history: Pluto was "discovered" as a planet this day in 1930. In recent years, however, it has been catergorized as a "dwarf planet." Be sure to find the Facebook group, "When I was your age, Pluto was a planet."

5. The Patch's Green Tip of the day: Call for EnergyWorks' Home Energy Analysis. EnergyWorks, an energy coordinating agency, can come into your home to provide you with an assessment of potential dangers and even can discern energy conservation possibilities. Contact information: 215-609-1052.
