Community Corner

5 Things: June 2

Tidbits of information to get you through the day.

1. Centennial School District: It’s never too early to start summer reading. The suggested reading lists are designed to help the CSD community strengthen its literary initiatives.

2. Upper Southampton Township: A community musical production is coming to USPR for the first time. “The Music Man” has been selected as the summer show. If you would like to participate, please contact Connor Kealey at kealey@susqu.edu.

3. Billboard Number One: Today in 1985, Tears for Fears’ “Everybody wants to rule the world” topped the charts. Influenced by Arthur Janov’s primal scream therapy, the band was able to write and deliver powerful pieces that resonated with audiences to come. Watch the original video, and hopefully, you will re-connect with these lyrics.

4.  With the weather warming up, an ice cream cone will do the trick to cool you down.  Today is National Rocky Road Day. Check out the Baskin-Robbins at 350 Second Street Pike after work and school for a middle-of-the-week treat.

5. Green pointer of the day: The Sierra Club encourages readers to discuss their views and ideas. The message board is available for local and national users to share fundraising and political suggestions with other members and the community.
