5 Things: March 7

Tidbits of information to get you through the day.

1. It's all in the planning: The Upper Southampton Township Planning Commission is scheduled to discuss the details of the with representatives from the Centennial School District at 7  p.m. in the conference room of the township building.

2. Township's tip to stay green: It has been awfully rainy lately, and
of course, our storm water drains work overtime. To make sure these
drains are functioning properly, be sure to avoid both placing waste down
these drains and littering as the storm water collects our debris en route. Check here
for more tips on how to keep your neighborhood safe and devoid of
pollutants.

3. Billboard Number One: Today in 1976, the Four Seasons' "December,
1963 (Oh what a night)" topped the charts. This song is indelibly
imprinted in my memory for one reason: my time invested in The Roller Skating Palace on the Roosevelt Boulevard. (This song was basically played on loop, and no one actually complained). In including that tidbit, I just reminded you of all your elementary school birthday parties--you're welcome. Listen to the song here and become retroactively embarrassed as you fondly recall your "stellar" skating abilities.
