5 Things: March 9

Tidbits of information to get you through the day.

1. Upper Southampton Parks and Recreation: Tomorrow starts Miss Kelli's dance class for dancers ages three to five. Students will be able to learn fundamentals of creative dance and ballet. This session starts at 12:45 for beginners plus and 1:45 for beginners and will be held in the . Call 215-355-9781 to register, and click here for more details

2. Join the team! Are you the parent or guardian of a student at Klinger Middle School, and you're looking to get involved? The Parent Teacher Organization invites you to offer your skills and abilities to benefit the school in ways such as reviewing the bylaws, developing  fundraising activities and goals, promoting communication initiatives and much more. 3. "Nobody puts Baby in the corner." Billboard Number One: Today in 1962, Bruce Channel's "Hey! Baby" topped the charts. If you can tell me on which film's soundtrack you can find this song and who said the quotation I have included from this film, then I hope to run into you at Kellerman's Resort this summer before I leave for Mount Holyoke College. Ha! You don't have to guess; just watch the video.

4. Snack time! Centennial School District's Nutritional Services promotes the American Dietetic Association's tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle. For a snack, combine cereal, dried fruits and nuts to form a nice trail mix of sorts. (A great source of protein, too!) 5. The Patch's green tip of the day: Lighters, due to the fact that they are disposable, are actually a source of maximizing our earth's carbon footprint. Use matches instead, as they are created by used materials. And as a fire chief's daughter, I have to advise to always use any kind of open flame/fire with caution.
