5 Things You Should Know Today: Feb. 7

Five interesting nuggets of information for today, Monday, Feb. 7.

1. Cheeseheads everywhere are delighted today, as the Green Bay Packers topped the Pittsburgh Steelers in last night's big game, the NFL's Super Bowl XLV.

2. Could it be time to bust out the short-sleeve shirts? Today's weather should be some of the nicest we have seen in Southampton in quite some time. The National Weather Service is predicting a high temperature of 47 degrees.

3. The Upper Southampton Township Planning Commission will hold a public meeting this evening at 7 p.m. in the meeting room next to the tax collector's office in the township building. At this meeting, there will be a preliminary review of the

4. The Centennial School Board has cancelled the Operations Committee meeting previously scheduled for this evening. They have rescheduled the meeting for Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building.

5. On this day in 1964, The Beatles arrived in New York City to begin their first tour in the U.S. The band kicked off the tour by playing the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb. 9., and from there, the band continued on to play the Washington Coliseum on February 11th and then back to  New York City’s Carnegie Hall on February 12th. Each show was said to last  no longer than one half-hour.
