The Bucks County Community College Foundation will hold its fifth annual Women’s Scholarship Tea from 1 to 3 p.m. this Thursday.
Donations benefit women students who support at least one child while seeking a higher education. The event is presented by First Niagara.
The event will be held in Tyler Hall, an 82-year-old historic mansion that’s the cornerstone of the college’s Newtown campus. Tea, light finger sandwiches and desserts will be served.
On average, approximately 75 women from local businesses and the community attend, according to Adrienne Clark of the BCCC Foundation.
“Last year through the generosity of the attendees, 10 $1,000 scholarships were awarded,” said Clark.
The theme of educational opportunity will be carried throughout the afternoon. Guest speakers include Nancy Mateo, principal of who was named 2012 Principal of the Year for the East Coast, and Dr. Roberta Mayer of Bucks County Community College.
Due to limited seating, reservations are required. To make a reservation or for more information, contact the BCCC Foundation at email@example.com or 215-968-8224.
The BCCC Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c) (3) educational trust that provides expanded resources for the college’s growth and development. Foundation funds support instructional resources, campus facilities, scholarships and awards, cultural activities and special college projects.
