County Offers Vouchers for Produce to Low-Income Seniors

Bucks County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) to Offer Farmers Market Nutrition Program in Conjunction with Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, is again offering the Farmers Market Nutrition Program to older adults in Bucks County. 

The program provides $20 in free vouchers to individuals and $40 to couples, for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets.  

The vouchers will ONLY be distributed at the designated senior centers listed below, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Fridays, while supplies last.

To be eligible, recipients must be a resident of Bucks County and be age 60 or older. 

In addition, income guidelines are as follows:  1 person: $20,665 or less; 2 people in household:  $27,991 or less; 3 people:  $35,317 or less; 4 people:  $42,643 or less.

You will be required to show proof of residence and age. 

Please visit one of the senior centers listed below to register.  If you are unable to go to a senior center, a relative or friend may register for you by providing proper identification and a completed Proxy form, signed by the recipient. 

Proxy forms are available on the Area Agency on Aging web page, or may be picked up at either the Area Agency on Aging office, 30 E. Oakland Ave., Doylestown; or at the Government Services Center, 7321 New Falls Road, Levittown. 

Proxy forms, as well as a listing of participating farmers markets, are also available at all senior centers.
