Deadly Boston Marathon Explosions: Local Runners Registered for Race

According to the Boston Athletic Association website, five entrants—three men and two women—from the greater Southampton area were registered to run.

At least three people were killed and more than 130 injured in explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line at about 3 p.m. Monday, according to CNN.

Three runners from Holland [Mary Frances Barr, Zack Bishop and Michael Gross] and two runners from Richboro [Rosemarie Cole and Brian Small] were registered to race, according to the Boston Marathon website. So far Patch has not received any information on their condition.

"Of the 23,326 runners who started, 17,584 crossed the line," according to a tweet from RunnersWorld. The last recorded finisher was a 2:57 p.m., the running magazine said.
