Kidnapping Hoax Mom Faces Second Sentencing

Bonnie Sweeten appeared in federal court Wednesday for sentencing on fraud charges; she has already served one year for a kidnapping hoax perpetrated in Southampton back in 2009.

A federal judge ruled that from business associates and family members before reporting a fake carjacking and fleeing to Disney World with her daughter.

Sweeten, 40, formerly of Feasterville, spent one year in prison on the fake kidnapping claim. She returned to court today to receive a sentence on the additional fraud charges.

NBC10 reports that the sentencing may not conclude today and testimony is expected to continue this afternoon.
