Neshaminy State Park Holds Civil War Reenactment

Neshaminy State Park will continue its annual Civil War Reenactment on Sunday.

The 24th Annual Civil War Reenactment will be held at Neshaminy State Park this Saturday and Sunday.

Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, camps and attractions will be open to the public. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. civilian streets will be open for on-going demonstrations of the 19th century life. Guests will be able to "Meet the Generals," hear a fife and drum corps concert and see live battle demonstrations.

The Battle of Payne's Farm, Va., which took place on Nov. 27, 1863, will be reenacted on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. After the battle and hospital scenes, there will be a military parade back to the camps around 3:30 p.m., where more activities will take place.

Camps close to the public at 6 p.m. on Saturday, but the activities start back up the next morning at 9 a.m.

At 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Battle of New Hope Church, Va., which took place Nov. 27, 1863, will be reenacted followed by an honor ceremony and hospital scenes.

The event will wrap up at 4 p.m.
