Southampton Free Library Reopens Following Renovations

The library unveiled a brand-new look this week.

The Southampton Free Library reopened Monday morning following a two-week closure for renovations.

The library now has a fresh new look, with a fresh coat of paint, new carpets, a new reference desk, and new computer desks, and several of the stacks have been rearranged, giving the area a more open feel.

“There is still some work to be done, but we are really happy with the outcome,” said Library Director Kim Ingram.

Ingram said in the coming weeks the trim will be painted and new blinds will be ordered for the windows.

If you want to stop in and check out the new look, the library is open Monday  through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m to 5 p.m.
