Teen Struck by Car on Maple Avenue

Police confirm a 16-year-old Southampton resident was struck by a hit-and-run driver shortly before 10 p.m.

Upper Southampton Police Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on Maple Ave.

Police said shortly before 10 p.m., a 16-year-old female was struck by a light colored sedan on Maple Avenue near Stahl Road. 

According to police, the teenager, was conscious before she was transported by ambulance to Abington Memorial Hospital.

A resident who lives in the area of the accident, Lisa Cooper, described hearing a loud thump from inside of her home.

Another neighbor is said to have witnessed the accident as he was taking trash out to the curb.

Detectives are searching for a silver or gold colored sedan that witnesses reported seeing drive away from the scene following the accident.
