Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory calling for wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Southampton and the surrounding area including Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

The advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. and calls for sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusting from 45 to 50 mph.

NWS said strong wind gusts can knock down tree limbs and possibly some weaker trees, especially with the recent rainfall. Isolated power outages may occur.

Winds could also make it difficult to drive high-profile vehicles, especially on bridges and other elevated roadways.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution especially those in high profile vehicles. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.

This Afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a west wind between 23 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. 

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Breezy, with a west wind 19 to 22 mph decreasing to between 7 and 10 mph. 

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Calm wind becoming southwest between 7 and 10 mph. 

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. West wind between 8 and 10 mph. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. West wind between 6 and 8 mph. 

Sunday Night: A slight chance of rain showers, mixing with snow after 11pm, then gradually ending. Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
