When Does Daylight Saving Begin in 2013?

Clocks should "spring forward" one hour early Sunday morning.

By now, most people in Southampton have noticed that daylight is beginning a little earlier each morning.

That means that both spring and Daylight Saving Time are near. In 2013, the big shift will take place on Sunday.

On that date, most of the U.S. will 'spring' clocks forward at 2 a.m. This means that while you'll lose an hour of sleep, you'll gain an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day.

And when does it end? This year, DST will last until Nov. 3.

In addition to your clocks, the folks at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission - and most fire departments - are reminding everyone that this is also a good time to change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
