Flood Watch: 1-3 Inches of Rain Likely in Upper Southampton Thursday

Brace yourself for another very soggy day as a strong low pressure system brings heavy rain to Upper Southampton Thursday into Thursday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for 10 a.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday for Bucks County as a strong low-pressure system brings us another day of heavy rain.

According to Mark Showmaker, director of Emergency Management for Upper Southampton Township, residents may expect one to three inches of rain, as well as severe storms and high winds, starting in the late afternoon and early evening. In addition, the temperature high will be near 78.

Showmaker notes that the already saturated ground from recent storms may cause some flooding throughout the township, and advises that travelers and motorists not go through large standing water on the roadways or sidewalks. Likewise, motorists and pedestrians should never circumvent official barricades, and that travelers should just turnaround.
