Pedestrian Struck by Car on Street Road Saturday

Warminster Chief of Police Michael Murphy described the man as being "pretty busted up."

A middle-aged man was struck by a car on Street Road in the vicinity of Valley Road early Saturday morning.

Warminster Chief of Police Michael Murphy said the driver of the car stopped immediately and will not be facing charges. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been involved.

Police were not clear as to why the man walked into the eastbound lane of travel just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, and are still determining whether the man will be cited for violating the township's jaywalking law, Murphy said.

The man was taken from the scene to Abington Memorial Hospital where he is recovering.

According to Murphy, the man had several broken bones throughout his body, but his injuries are "non-life threatening."

Murphy said the man has no fixed address, but he is believed to be staying with a friend at Meadowbrook Condominiums.
