Street Road Motorcycle Accident Leaves One Dead

Warminster Police will close a portion of Street Road tomorrow, to reconstruct Sunday's deadly accident.

Warminster Police will shut down Street Road between Jacksonville and Centennial Roads Tuesday morning, to reconstruct a deadly car-versus-motorcycle accident that involved a driver from Southampton.

Police said Aaron Matthews, of Southampton, was driving with three children in the car when the collision occurred on Street Road near Newtown Road Sunday evening.

According to a statement issued by the Warminster Police Department, the motorcycle and sedan collided in the intersection just before 9 p.m. Sunday, causing "both disabling and catastrophic damage" to the vehicles and the occupant of the motorcycle.

Police said the occupants of the sedan were assessed at the scene of the accident and did not require any immediate medical attention.

The driver of the motorcycle, Sean Grady, of Warminster, was pronounced dead at Abington Memorial Hospital following the accident.

According to the press release, police found Grady face down in the middle of Street Road. He was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

This is yet another in a string of deadly accidents involving motorcycles on Street Road this summer.

My prayers and sympathy go to that young mans family and his girlfriend. Several off my friends and coworkers travel that road every week. I never thought of it as an unsafe road but that's just my ignorance. It's very open and the speed limit is 45 so it's common to see people doing 55 even 60.
