Greenleaf on Presidential Primary Ballot

Senator Greenleaf will be featured on the New Hampshire ballot come 2012.

Republican State Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf, who represents portions of Bucks and Montgomery County, filed paperwork in New Hampshire last week to be included on the state’s 2012 Republican presidential primary ballot.

Greenleaf said he only entered the race in an attempt to bring new ideas to the national forefront, rather than to campaign to be the next commander-in-chief, the Public Spirit Newspaper reported.

The 72-year-old Huntingdon Valley resident filed the paperwork last Friday, according to information obtained by Politico.com.

In New Hampshire, which is the first state to hold a primary election, anyone who files their paperwork in person and pays $1,000 to the state can be placed on the primary ballot - no petitions needed.

Due to New Hampshire’s lax regulations, dozens of candidates - from around the United States - will be included on the ballot come primary election day in January.
